Led by Bruce Tait, FCIOF, this practical and thought-provoking course challenges outdated hiring practices and introduces a values-driven approach to recruiting fundraisers. Drawing on decades of experience, Bruce explores how ethical recruitment can transform organisational culture and improve diversity, fairness, and performance.

Participants will learn how to embed principles such as pay transparency, inclusive job design, and assessing candidates based on potential rather than privilege. Attendees will gain the tools and confidence to design recruitment processes that attract and retain talented, mission-aligned fundraisers. By the end of the session, participants will understand how ethical recruitment not only builds stronger teams but also strengthens trust, reputation, and long-term impact across the fundraising profession.

Bruce Tait, FCIOF, is an award-winning fundraising leader and recruitment specialist with more than 30 years’ experience in the charity sector.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, Bruce is best known as the founder of Bruce Tait Associates (BTA), one of the UK’s leading nonprofit recruitment consultancies. He is also a Fellow of the Employment and Recruitment Federation.   

Bruce has advised hundreds of charities and social enterprises on leadership, governance, and team development, and has been a vocal advocate for fairness, transparency, and inclusion in recruitment.
