We're dedicated to the issues facing fundraisers with primary responsibility for raising voluntary income in their organisation.
Not sure if you count as a sole fundraisers? Take a look at the below to help you work out if our group is for you. Sole fundraisers:
- Usually are the only person employed by their charity with responsibilty for raising voluntary income
- Normally have sole or shared responsibility for their organisations fundraising strategy
- Sometimes hold responsibility for traded and contracted income, bid writing and business development (they can also be responsible for comms and evaluation)
- Tend to report to the CEO level person in their organisation and generally are not managed by a fundraiser and as such have to defend and explain good fundraising practice
Some remote workers in community fundraising teams could also consider joining but generally only if you have responsibility for your territory strategy and are managed within a service delivery team.
If income generation is part of your remit and you are also a project manager, then membership of the Chartered Institute and the Sole Fundraisers Special Interest Group may be very useful. It will sharpen your fundraising acumen and develop your network of peer support.
We are looking for new volunteers to join our committee. If you'd like to support our activities across the region, and gain some valuable experience in the process, please visit the group volunteering page, or get in touch with any questions.
We are currently recruiting for the following roles:
- EDI Champion
