Standard Content

Face-to-face fundraising has come under increasing scrutiny in recent months following an increase in complaints, negative media coverage and the Fundraising Regulator’s market inquiry into sub-contracting in face-to-face fundraising. Recent research commissioned by the Fundraising Regulator also found that 40% of people surveyed rated their experience of public fundraising negatively. However, it remains a vital way of raising funds and engaging new supporters.

Join Bates Wells and the CIOF for an in-person roundtable on Wednesday 17 July to discuss:

· The outcomes of the Fundraising Regulator’s market inquiry and how the report’s recommendations might be implemented practically.

· How to best monitor and maintain appropriate oversight of contractors and sub-contractors fundraising on your charity’s behalf.

· Ideas for how to reduce complaints and ensure that face-to-face fundraising is carried out in accordance with the Code of Fundraising Practice.

It will be a great opportunity to share experiences and ideas with other charities and to hear from legal experts at Bates Wells on best practice in face-to-face fundraising. To encourage inclusive and open dialogue at this event, Chatham House Rules will apply. Please share any questions or themes in advance upon registration of this event, so we can tailor the discussion to address the needs of the charities attending. We are looking to reduce food waste where possible at our events so please also note if you will be attending lunch before the roundtable starts.

Event timings:

· 12pm – 12:30pm: Registration at Reception and lunchtime refreshments

· 12:30pm – 1:45pm: Roundtable discussion

· 1:45pm – 2pm: Networking and refreshments
