The bursaries are awarded based on an assessment of financial need, and will take into account the financial circumstances of the Charity and the case of the individual fundraiser. Bursaries are only awarded to fundraisers who, in the opinion of the Chartered Institute, will benefit from and contribute greatly to their organisation and the cause it represents.

The application process is managed by the Professional Development team. Please be aware that not all bursary applications are successful and the decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
Students will only be awarded one bursary to help towards the cost of their qualification, and only one bursary will be awarded per organisation per qualification.
Please note preference will be given to small charities (with an income of under £1 million) and self-funding individuals. The application deadline is 6 weeks before the start date* of the qualification you are applying for.
*The start date refers to the first live teaching session (for virtual delivery) or the first self-study week (for online delivery).
Once a decision has been reached, applicants will be informed of the outcome, and (if successful) the value of their award. All bursary places are in line with our standard Terms and Conditions.
Bursaries are only valid for 12 months from the date awarded.
