Meta – which runs Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp – recently made changes to its advertising policies, which will affect how charities can use its business tools.
We’re aware that this update is likely to have an impact on our members who conduct a lot of their fundraising and awareness campaigns through these platforms. We understand there will be an impact on campaign performance, audience targeting and reporting accuracy.
We know the difficulties our members are currently facing, and this presents yet another hurdle for you to navigate.
Further information on the changes can be found in this blog post from Torchbox.
We will be writing to Meta asking for exceptions to be made for organisations using the Meta business tools for charitable purposes – and would appreciate input from our members who will be impacted by this. Please send any supportive comments to me by email – claires@ciof.org.uk – highlighting the potential impact this could have on your organisation’s fundraising activities.
In the meantime, Chartered Institute of Fundraising trustee, Jordan Miller-Hughes, will host a webinar looking at these changes and exploring how charities can navigate their way through them.
The webinar will take place on Monday 20 January at 13.30. You can sign up here.
