Rosie has worked in fundraising for over 7 years. Having previously worked in arts fundraising at Birmingham Hippodrome. she is now Charity Manager (and sole fundraiser) at Caudwell LymeCo, a small medical research charity. Like many other sole fundraisers, she works across all areas of fundraising, but is particularly keen on individual giving. She is also Trustee of Make Some Noise, a small local youth music charity, and she works as a marriage registrar at weekends. As Co-Chair of the committee, her aim is to build a solid and supportive resource for all other sole fundraisers.
Having been a self-employed businessman Marco has been involved with Charities and Non Profits of varying sizes as a trustee or non exec for almost twenty years often being the only member tasked with income generation. So it’s been a short step into more formal fundraising as a career. Often facing many of the same challenges about where the next revenue stream is coming from or how to keep up with an ever-changing environment. Marco now helps advise small charities and social enterprise groups.
Elsie is the Head of Development at Scottish Mountain Rescue. The first and sole fundraiser for the organisation, Elsie is responsible for leading and implementing the first fundraising strategy for this membership body representing the majority of Scotland's mountain rescue teams. Elsie was previously the first Fundraising Manager for Scotland for Crisis UK, and also held Fundraising Manager roles for Camphill Blair Drummond and Macmillan Cancer Support, giving her over 11 years' experience covering many aspects of fundraising. She is also a trustee for the Scottish Mountaineering Trust, a grant-making trust.
Ruth has worked in the charity sector for 20 years including managing a local charity and fundraising. She is now the Fundraising Manager at The Frozen Ark, an international charity that collects, preserves and stores DNA of endangered animals.
Izi started her fundraising career in the arts sector, primarily focusing on trust and foundation fundraising at English National Ballet; then at Fauna & Flora International seeking restricted grants for international conservation projects. With further experience gained in major donor fundraising during a brief spell in higher education, Izi is now Population Matters’ first and sole fundraiser helping to develop new income streams to support its global campaigns.
