At Scimitar, our goal is to provide the best possible support to fundraisers by equipping them with the right tools to enhance their efforts. We work directly with charities, helping them maximise fundraising activities, and we also stay ahead of the trends in the sector to keep fundraisers informed about the latest products and branded items.
Joining the Chartered Institute of Fundraising was a natural step for us - we were eager to become part of the active community directly connected to the sector. Through our membership, we aim to help fundraisers maximise their impact and we’re also passionate about promoting sustainability in fundraising, and we hope to educate others on the importance of eco-friendly apparel and promotional goods.
Members of our team have been involved with fundraising and the charity sector for over 14 years, and during that time, we’ve seen firsthand the challenges fundraisers face. From navigating global recessions to overcoming the hurdles presented by COVID-19, our team members have been there every step of the way, ensuring that fundraisers get the apparel and goods they need to keep their efforts going strong.
What we find most valuable about our membership with the Chartered Institute is the sense of community. There’s something powerful about coming together with like-minded people in such an important social sector. It gives us a platform to share our experience, and to learn from others. Being part of this network allows us, as a business, to stay connected and engaged with the dynamic shifts in modern fundraising.
Through our membership, we’re not just looking to connect with sector professionals, we’re hoping to drive change and be a vocal part of the community. Our focus on developing sustainable apparel and eco-friendly promotional items is driven by direct feedback from fundraisers, and being part of this community gives us invaluable insights. Learning about the needs of the fundraising sector helps us prepare better for the future, and the open conversations we have with the community allow us to continue improving.
Becoming a member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising is an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed. The chance to network with such an active, passionate community is invaluable, and it opens up so many possibilities for growth and collaboration within the sector.
One of the best parts of being connected to fundraisers is the feedback we receive. By working closely with fundraising teams at charities, we can gather insights that shape our development plans. Fundraising teams are some of the most passionate people I’ve encountered, and through them, we’re able to understand the wants and needs of individual fundraisers on a much larger scale.
One success story I’m particularly proud of is our work with Alzheimer’s Research UK. We helped the charity produce quality technical t-shirts made from recycled plastic bottles, aligning with their sustainability goals. James Pritchard, Supporter Merchandise & Fulfilment Manager at Alzheimer’s Research UK, shared that our commitment to sustainability and quality has been key in helping them achieve their goals.
Becoming a member of the Chartered Institute is something we’re delighted about, and I’m excited to see how we can continue to support charities and fundraisers in the future.
