The Major Donor Special Interest Group have established a mentoring programme, open to all major donor fundraisers.

The programme aims to provide a platform for those at the beginning of their career to work with more experienced fundraisers, providing both with a fantastic opportunity to develop professionally by learning new skills and gaining new perspectives.

We look to match up mentees with an appropriate mentor, based on their ambitions, experience, and the aspect of their career that they would most like support with.

The programme will run on a fairly informal and flexible basis, with both mentor and mentee finding a way to work together that best suits them. That could mean meeting face to face, over skype or on the phone, it could mean regular monthly meetings, ad-hoc sessions, or just a one-off discussion. It's all up to you!

Our aim is simply to match up any major donor fundraiser seeking advice or support, with someone able to lend their experience and expertise. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, or know someone who is, we would love to hear from you! We are currently over-subscribed for mentees.

*We are now accepting new applications*

If you are interesting in being either a mentor or a mentee, please contact Michael Winehouse at majorDonor@institute-of-fundraising.org.uk to find out more.
