  • Leanne Roberts

I joined the Chartered Institute of Fundraising Yorkshire committee a few years ago out of a strong passion for supporting Yorkshire fundraisers. As one of the Founding Directors of Charity Horizons, a specialist Charity and NFP recruitment agency, I've had the privilege of supporting fundraisers in Yorkshire for over a decade. I love my job and my role on the committee. As a proud committee member, I work with a fantastic team to ensure Yorkshire fundraisers are represented nationally and have access to excellent training, events, and networking opportunities.

  • Claire Ryan

A seasoned income generation professional with a passion for equality and diversity in the workplace. I'm a qualified ADHD coach, and a Chartered Manager, and I love engaging in conversations. I am passionate about the third sector connecting and growing together for the collective good! My experience covers everything from grassroots fundraising to managing income-generation teams, education, retail, and volunteering!

  • Kerry Dwyer

I have worked at the Yorkshire Air Ambulance since 2009, starting as a Community Fundraiser then various other roles and now serving as the Director of Public Fundraising, overseeing Community Fundraising, Individual Giving and Events. As part of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising in Yorkshire, leading on virtual events and co leading on mentoring, I look forward to continuing to grow our presence across the region making the Chartered Institute and all its benefits far more accessible to our fabulous fundraisers in Yorkshire.

  • Tara Bean

I joined the Yorkshire Committee in January 2024 because I wanted to play a small part in bringing together the brilliant fundraisers across our region and encouraging even greater collaboration. Yorkshire is full of talent, insight and generosity, and I believe we achieve so much more when we share our successes, challenges and opportunities.

I’ve worked in the charity sector for 20 years, with roles at Cancer Research UK, Barnardo’s and St Gemma’s Hospice. Most recently, I was Head of Individual Giving at Leeds Hospitals Charity.

I love connecting with fellow fundraisers, sharing experiences, and keeping up with the latest sector insight, whether that’s through conferences, training or simply great conversations. I’m really looking forward to taking on the role of Training Lead for the committee and helping to support learning and development across our fantastic Yorkshire fundraising community.

  • Rachel Brooke

Having worked in the sector for about 12 years now and at Heart Research UK for over 10 years (albeit evolving my role through various different income streams), I truly believe that the best way to succeed is through collaboration. As professional fundraisers we’re generally a pretty good bunch of people and by sharing knowledge and expertise we can help each other to grow, achieve more and ultimately raise more for our organisations.

  • Elsie Riley

Working remotely from Yorkshire as the Head of Development at Scottish Mountain Rescue, I am the first and sole fundraiser for the organization. My responsibilities include leading and implementing the first fundraising strategy for this membership body, which represents most of Scotland's mountain rescue teams. Previously, I held Fundraising Manager roles for Crisis UK, Camphill Blair Drummond, and Macmillan Cancer Support.

  • Olena Pfirsch

I entered the charity sector 3 years ago working for Heart Research UK as a Fundraising Assistant and was quickly drawn into Events and Community Fundraising. Connecting with supporters is one of my favourites parts of being a fundraiser. Meeting people and helping them to make meaningful difference in the world through fundraising and getting to meet and work alongside other fundraisers is a privilege.

  • Kay Harrsion

With a background in events management, digital marketing and fundraising, I joined Friends of the Earth in 2022 and fell in love with the passion and purpose that makes our sector so special. Championing excellent supporter experiences as Community and Content Manager for About Loyalty by day, I also sit on the volunteer team for the annual York Environment Festival and perform at a local, literary-themed comedy night in York.

I love bringing people together to spark new ideas, and I’m looking forward to creating lots of opportunities for connection, inspiration and learning as part of the Yorkshire Committee.
