New for 2026 we have created a data & insights hub to help members stay up to date with the latest developments shaping giving and the fundraising profession.
Fundraising in the UK is evolving. We are seeing noticeable short- and long-term shifts across the whole giving landscape as people respond to the economic environment and adjust their giving habits to an increasingly digital world. And with more charities looking to engage younger audiences, we will likely see new approaches trends develop.
These changes are having an inevitable impact on fundraising as a profession. Many charities are now looking at how to build a pipeline of talented, digitally confident fundraisers who can adapt to donors’ changing needs.
Against this backdrop, it’s more important than ever for charity leaders and fundraisers to stay up to date with the latest trends and developments. To support this, we’ve created a new Fundraising Data & Insights Hub – a single place where members can access the latest reports, analysis, recommendations, and practical resources on everything relevant to fundraising, from donor behaviour to the future of work.
By bringing together the most relevant data, analysis, and practical resources in one place, the Fundraising Data & Insights Hub aims to help charities make informed decisions, respond to emerging trends, and build a stronger, more resilient fundraising sector.
How the hub works
Each time a report is released, we add it to the hub along with our own analysis and recommendations. We also provide resources to help members put the findings into practice. The hub is structured around four key areas:
- Big picture trends – covering sector-wide issues like national giving patterns, digital transformation, and fundraising and a profession.
- High-value giving – insights on major donors, corporate partnerships, and trusts.
- Mass-market fundraising products – including events, community fundraising, and individual giving initiatives.
- Legacies – trends, strategies, and insights into gifts in Wills fundraising.
What we will use this hub for
The hub is designed to help members:
- Track long-term, sector-wide trends to help shape policy and strategic planning.
- Share the latest insights on donors’ behaviours and giving habits to inform short- and medium-term strategies.
- Provide insight into fundraising as a profession to help charities recruit, retain, and develop talent.
- Identify opportunities across the sector to strengthen and enhance fundraising practices.
If you have a report you would like featured on the hub please email policy@ciof.org.uk.
