The Face-to-Face (F2F) Fundraising Benchmarking Report provides fundraisers and charities with a clear, data-driven picture of how face-to-face fundraising is performing today. Drawing on nationwide sign-up data and expert sector insight, the report reveals trends, challenges, and opportunities that will help fundraising teams strengthen their strategies and plan confidently for sustainable growth.

Despite the COVID pandemic and ongoing cost-of-living crisis, face-to-face fundraising has remained resilient over the past five years, providing a stable source of income and new supporters for charities. The Chartered Institute of Fundraising worked with Turner PR recently to develop our first F2F Fundraising Benchmarking report, which estimates that face-to-face fundraising raised £50 million in the first year of giving from donors signed up across 2024.

This report shares performance data, alongside expert insight from agency and charity practitioners into what the data shows and positive predictions for future growth. It has used monthly F2F sign-up data reported to the CIOF from levy-paying members participating in public fundraising and includes confirmed sign-up data from 60 charities and 16 agencies for the years 2019, 2022 and 2024. Comparisons are by year and the F2F channel - street, door-to-door, private site (regular giving) and private site (lottery).

The public fundraising levy funds the services the CIOF provides to support this method of fundraising - from territory planning and guidance to training and advocacy, with the fee based on monthly sign-up numbers.
