Action Medical Research's Director of Fundraising, Lewis Coghlin shares how membership has helped their charity.

Why We Joined the Chartered Institute of Fundraising

At Action Medical Research, we joined the Chartered Institute to learn from a highly respected body, through their events, online guidance and other resources, and directly from the high quality people who work there.

Impact on Our Organisation and Fundraisers

Membership helps us stay in touch with the latest guidance and resources, and allows us to access events at a discount. It helps our fundraisers stay connected to best practice and ensures we're using approaches that work.

What We Value Most

Being part of an organisation that understands fundraising and can help charities like us navigate a path through the many challenges to achieve success is what we value most about our membership.

Contributing to the Sector

We contribute to consultations, attend the online Convention and other CIoF events, and will occasionally contribute our own learnings, successes—and failures too—to help other charities to benefit. We've also engaged with the Chartered Institute's policy and growing giving work.

I would certainly recommend membership to other organisations. It is good value for money and provides access to such a wide range of resources.
