Volunteering at Fundraising Convention

Volunteers are the backbone of Fundraising Convention and take on a range of varying and vital roles while most importantly being the friendly, professional face of this incredible event.

What does the role entail?

  • Signposting delegates to sessions in and around Fundraising Convention
  • Answering delegate enquiries
  • Distributing literature to delegates
  • Managing session rooms
  • Supporting and liaising with speakers
  • Collating evaluations

Criteria

  • Must be an Individual member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising
  • Agree to our code of conduct and code of behaviour at training and events
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Confidence to speak to a range of audiences
  • Engaging and friendly manner
  • Enjoy working as part of team
  • Volunteers must be available from Sunday 8 to Tuesday 10 June 2025 (all days inclusive)

Considerations

  • Three days commitment 
  • Individuals will be provided with a full induction and on-site support
  • Optional accommodation is provided. You will need to be available when required over the three days.
  • All meals (breakfast/lunch/dinner) provided.
  • Early starts and full days public facing
  • Travel expenses and additional subsistence are NOT covered

What are we looking for?

  • An understanding of fundraising and the sector
  • Excellent communication skills, being sociable, cheerful and courteous to all
  • Some level of fitness is required for many of our roles as they require extended time covering a large area. However, we will work with every individual who wants to volunteer with us to explore what reasonable adjustments we can make so that our roles are accessible to you.
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to commit to all three days (Sunday 8 to Tuesday 10 June)
  • Previous voluntary experience
