Joanna Sullivan, Dementia UK
Joanna has grown challenge events income at Dementia UK by 388% – on a ROI of 3.7:1. She has also led the recovery of community fundraising income since the pandemic.
Joanna has transformed the approach to challenge events at Dementia UK, focusing on driving up income across her team and on incremental improvements in systems and processes.
She introduced a Facebook fundraising virtual events model to Dementia UK in 2020, still going strong today; and has set up an Innovation team which works across Fundraising. She led an innovation process that identified the opportunity of a dog walking challenge for a health charity - an idea which has raised £4.8m to date and been used by many other charities since.
She has passed on her experience to team members, colleagues and those in the sector. She has engaged volunteers and ensured an additional 108,358 virtual eventers have supported the charity.
Charlotte di Corpo, Capital Theatres
Charlotte has delivered extraordinary results for the cultural sector in Scotland. Charlotte was a pioneer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, has led teams at Scottish Ballet, Festivals Edinburgh, National Museums Scotland, Glasgow Life and Capital Theatres.
Her expertise has quite literally shaped the Scottish landscape – delivering transformational capital appeals: the £69m redevelopment of the Award-winning Burrell Collection in Glasgow, and a £36m campaign for Capital Theatres in Edinburgh.
This nomination acknowledges Charlotte’s successes and achievements as a phenomenal fundraiser, and also her tireless commitment to supporting, connecting, mentoring and promoting fundraisers in the cultural sector.
