Tufail Hussain

Director of Islamic Relief UK

Tufail has 17 years of experience in the humanitarian sector. Before joining Islamic Relief UK in 2016 as Deputy Director, he led marketing and fundraising for various organizations. He became Director of Islamic Relief UK in 2019 and served as interim CEO of Islamic Relief Worldwide in 2021, helping increase income and forge new partnerships across the UK. He has traveled globally to spotlight crises, including in Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Sudan.

Passionate about empowering youth, Tufail mentors young people and works to build connections between British Muslims and the broader community. A father of six, he’s also a devoted Liverpool FC fan and sports enthusiast, having raised over £35,000 through two London Marathons.

Previously, as CEO of Orphans in Need, Tufail implemented strategies that raised income from £2 million to £9 million in three years and expanded the organization’s reach. Additionally, he serves as a trustee of the Muslim Charities Forum and Director of TIC International, Islamic Relief Worldwide’s clothing recycling arm.
