Cultural Sector Network Conference: Emerge
In our sixth year, the Chartered Institute of Fundraising’s Cultural Sector Network Conference is bringing you a digital conference, over two half-days between 1 and 2 June 2021, in partnership with Young Arts Fundraisers and the RAISE: Arts, Culture & Heritage programme.
Since our last conference, the world has been in a state of emergency. Yet through crisis and uncertainty, our ever-resilient arts sector has persevered, adapted, and is now beginning its recovery. For this years’ conference, we bring you the voices who found resolve and possibility within a state of emergency, as well as the new voices that are emerging and generating change across the sector.
Over two half-days and through co-curation with speakers, we will bring you live, pre-recorded and networking sessions that will review the past year and help invigorate and equip you to emerge into a new chapter of fundraising.
Our sessions this year fall under three key themes:
- We will reflect on the ways in which we have shifted our approaches to fundraising over the last year and the learning we will take forward
- The new skills we have picked up along the way and that will be vital as we rebuild the sector
- How we can centre the health and wellbeing of ourselves and our teams as we move towards recovery
Over the course of the two days, the programme will be made up of a mix of live and pre-record sessions across three digital ‘rooms’, allowing you to self-select the session you’d most like to attend. These will include panel discussions, solo-speakers, workshops, ‘watch parties’ and social spaces for networking, with lots of breaks to help combat Zoom fatigue.

This year we have been able to increase the number of bursary tickets available through the RAISE: Arts, Culture and Heritage programme and strongly encourage early career fundraisers and fundraisers who self-identify as ethnically diverse or disabled or are from small-to-medium charities to apply.
Bursary ticket holders will have priority access to speed mentoring sessions on each day. Led by Young Arts Fundraisers, bursary ticket holders will have their specific career questions answered by our mentors and get the confidence boost we all need in this climate of uncertainty.
Mentors across a breadth of fundraising expertise will offer advice and guidance in 1-2-1 sessions, bringing early-career and senior fundraisers together to develop connections for long-term mentoring relationships.
