An update on the approach to easing the lockdown restrictions in Scotland following the publication of Scotland's Strategic Framework Update on 23rd February .

The Scotland’s Strategic Framework Update sets out the stages and approach to easing lockdown restrictions in Scotland.

A cautious approach is being taken, with no immediate change to open up businesses or opportunities for restarting fundraising activity. The message to work from home remains.

The second phase (unlikely before 15th March) will ease some socialising rules, allowing outdoor meetings of 4 people from 2 households, so return of any fundraising within these restrictions will be very small scale and limited and should only proceed if safe to do so according to restrictions in place.

Phase three (unlikely before 5 April) will see ‘essential’ retailers list expanded slightly and ‘click and collect’ returning for non-essential shops. We will need to wait and see whether this includes charity shops or not.

Phase four (unlikely before 26 April) there will be a return to the Levels approach in Scotland, with regional restrictions in place. This may mean that some areas can more faster than others, with larger gatherings of people and more hospitality venues opening. Potentially some more fundraising events could happen after this date, depending on what the regional restrictions allow.

We will be working to provide further guidance as more information is available.
