New trustees announced at AGM 2019

The Chartered Institute has today announced new trustees at their Annual General Meeting

During the AGM, the IoF announced new trustees to the Institute’s Board following the recent election by members. The IoF welcomes Sofia Zeenat Sheikh and Joyce Fraser, and has re-elected Liz Tait. Trustees can serve up to two three year terms on the board.

The new trustees are:

Sofia Zeenat Sheikh

Sofia is Fundraising Manager at Strickland Scanner Centre (PSSC) and holds an IoF Diploma. She was chair at PACE and is keen to bring expertise from fundraising in the Asian Muslim community.

Joyce Fraser

Joyce is a judge at the National Fundraising Awards. She is a Cultural Sector Network Advocate for RAISE, the IoF’s Arts, Culture and Heritage programme, and is a committee member of Black Fundraisers UK.

Congratulations to our two newly elected trustees Sofia Zeenat Sheikh and Joyce Fraser, and to Liz Tait on being re-elected. They each bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and I look forward to working with them on the as we enter a new phase of the Institute’s development.

I also want to give my thanks and pay special tribute to the dedication and expertise of the trustees who are stepping down at this AGM, Danielle Atkinson and Kath Abrahams, and to Dominic Will who stepped down from the Board in April.

AGM delegates also heard results from the annual report; over the course of the year, the IoF have continued to deliver against Strategic objectives and the Convention and Fundraising Awards had another success year. Over 2,420 fundraisers are participated in Convention 2018, 105 people gained an IoF qualification, 1,643 attended one of the conferences or events and the IoF’s National, Regional and Special Interest Groups continued to grow their reach.
