Our recruitment process

Can I submit a speculative application or CV?

We only take applications for specific vacancies via this website and so do not accept speculative applications.

How do you select people?

If you meet the recruitment criteria, you’ll be invited to interview with managers in the area you’ve applied to. In some cases, we may arrange a telephone screening interview before inviting you in to meet us. Interviews may be via Zoom/Microsoft Teams or in person depending on the role and availability. The selection process will vary depending on the role. For some positions we may run assessment centres and carry out aptitude, skills-based and technical tests.

How long does it take you to make an offer?

We try to respond to all candidates as soon as possible – usually within a week of interview. Delays are sometimes unavoidable (such as when interviews are spread over a long period of time). We will indicate timescales at your interview .

I have a disability that could affect my interview. What should I do?

We make all reasonable adjustments so that your disability puts you at no disadvantage through the selection process. If you’re invited to interview, contact the recruiting manager and let us know what reasonable adjustments you require.

Do you offer internships?

No, not currently.

Equality, diversity and inclusion

The Chartered Institute is proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace where we can all be our ourselves and succeed on merit. We particularly welcome applications from those who are significantly underrepresented in our sector, such as disabled people and individuals from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities.
